Diving and snorkelling excursion to Catalina Island

Catalina is an island located in the south of the Dominican Republic, bathed by the waters of the Caribbean Sea. We will depart from the port of La Romana at around 9:15 am, where we will set sail for the dives and snorkelling.

The first dive is ‘THE WALL’, when we dive we find a coral reef at a depth of 6 metres that progresses to 9 metres, finding at this depth ‘The Wall’ with a depth of up to 40 metres, so it is suitable for both beginners and experienced divers. This wall is populated with hard and soft corals typical of the Caribbean, as well as multicoloured fish. This dive lasts approximately 40 minutes.

During this time, the companions will be able to snorkel.

The second dive is in the area known as AQUARIUM, which is a coral reef with multicoloured fish typical of the area and has a maximum depth of 12 metres with an approximate duration of 40 minutes.

After having done the two dives, we head to the island arriving around 12.30h where you can enjoy the beach and where you will have lunch, typical Dominican buffet and drinks.

At 15:00h we will start the return trip to the port of La Romana again, and return to the hotels.

For the dives it is necessary to bring physical or digital certification and for the non-certified divers who are going to do the Discover Scuba Diver programme, it is necessary to do the theory and pool training at least the day before in our facilities.

All dives are always conducted from a boat and under the supervision of an Instructor or Divemaster.

Recommendations

• Bring towel, swimsuit, water and snack for the way.

• Bring biodegradable non-aggressive biodegradable sunscreen for the time on the beach.

Requirements

The boat tour is not available for people with motor disabilities due to access and safety limitations on board the boat. NOT SUITABLE FOR PREGNANT WOMEN The operation of the excursion is subject to weather conditions. Participants must follow the instructions of the excursion staff at all times to ensure their safety and the safety of other passengers. Participants are required to arrive at least 10 minutes before the scheduled hotel pick-up time for the tour. Participants must wear comfortable clothing and footwear suitable for the water activity.

The diver must provide proof of certification upon request.
